Whenever it comes to maintaining a healthy weight, the most popular thing that people resort to is dieting, and all kinds of it. But the biggest drawback of dieting is that you eventually get off it and start bingeing your deprived stomach with all the yummy food it desperately missed. Therefore, a new thing called ‘biohacking’ has started taking the forefront for all the health fanatics. The term may sound high-tech, but biohacking itself is absolutely not! So, let’s take a look at the gist of this fancy term and find out how it can help lose those extra pounds.
A brief Introduction
They say, “You are what you eat”; but for us humans, “you are what you eat, drink, think and believe”. And through biohacking, all of this can be achieved. In simple terms, it has everything to do with training your body to some small and simple lifestyle changes in order to bring improvement to your overall health. It does not only promise weight loss, but also an improved brain function and tackles mental health problems. By rejecting the calories in, calories out theory, it has already made life easier for everyone who loves food!
Hacks to Biohack your Weight
If you want to stop feeling bad every time you satisfy your hunger pangs with your favorite, not so healthy and definitely a non-weight-loss friendly meal, then start incorporating all these tips in your life!
Improve your circadian rhythm
If you don’t already know, there is a biological clock inside our bodies. Nothing big, it’s just your sleep/wake cycle which determines the mental, physical and behavioral changes in your body, including the way your metabolism works. For example, if you are someone who pulls all-nighters, obesity will surely make a way in your life. So, stop playing with nature and start being an early bird.
Also, eat within the 12 hours you wake up because even the late night munching and eating right before bed can mess up with your circadian rhythm.
Don’t bite more than you can chew
Our gut has a nervous system of its own, and it can help us greatly with losing weight. Taking small bites and chewing more can make the gut release signals from the digestive hormones that go to the brain and play a part in making one feel full faster. By doing this, the portion sizes of meals can be easily reduced as well.
Take a morning walk
If you are like most people, going to the gym for you is like climbing Mount Everest! Which is why opting for a morning walk is a really good idea. Walk for at least 30 minutes a day, three days a week to start with. Take turns between running and brisk walking to not only burn calories but to reduce your blood cholesterol and sugar levels as well.
Drink water before meals
The only thing in this world that comes with numerous benefits, and also without a cost, is water. Along with skin improvement and providing energy, it can also help in losing weight. Drinking it before starting each meal can result in consuming fewer calories and eventually lead to weight loss.
Training your body by incorporating small lifestyle changes goes a long way! It will not only help you shed pounds but make you a healthier and a much more positive person. And if you make the above-mentioned points a part of your life, not only will you look better, but feel much better as well.
